Excellent options are extra properties on an eligible item. Read the actual lines before comparing two drops: more options do not automatically mean that every option helps your build.
How many options can an item have?
Ordinary Excellent weapons, armour and shields use a pool of six possible Excellent options. A drop may have fewer, depending on its reward source. Luck, a weapon skill, item level and the additional option are separate properties; they do not count as extra Excellent lines.
This six-option pool is not a universal list for wings, pets or every accessory. Their options can follow different rules. A full-option item is not a guaranteed drop from any box.
Weapon options
| Option | What it helps with |
|---|---|
| Excellent damage rate | The configured common weapon option adds 10 percentage points to the Excellent damage rate component. It is not a guaranteed Excellent hit. |
| Damage based on level | Adds physical or magic damage according to the weapon’s rule and your level. It is not a flat 20% damage bonus. |
| Damage increase | The common physical-weapon rule adds 2% at its damage-calculation step. Read the corresponding magic option on a staff rather than assuming every weapon is physical. |
| Attack speed | The common option adds 7 speed. This does not mean seven extra attacks every second. |
| Life recovery after hunting | Helps restore HP after eligible monster kills. It is not healing on every hit or free regeneration while standing still. |
| Mana recovery after hunting | Helps restore MP after eligible monster kills. It can help sustain a long hunt, but does not remove skill costs. |
Armour and shield options
| Option | Current common value | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum HP | +4% | More maximum life; it is not damage reduction. |
| Maximum MP | +4% | More maximum mana; it does not directly increase every spell’s damage. |
| Damage reduction | 4% | A reduction component in the damage calculation. Several sources and combat rules can affect the final damage. |
| Reflect damage | 5% | A reflect component. It does not cancel the original hit or guarantee survival. |
| Defense Success Rate | +10% | Improves the relevant defence-success value. It is not a universal 10% chance to dodge every PvP attack. |
| Zen amount from monsters | +30% | Affects the amount of eligible Zen drops. It does not mean 30% more jewels or a 30% chance to find a box. |
Choose for your activity
For a long hunt, recovery and survivability can reduce interruptions. For a duel, consider how your offensive and defensive options work together. Compare equipment as a whole: damage or defence, requirements, skills, Luck and the options you actually need.
Do not add several percentage lines and assume that their sum is your final damage reduction or hit chance. Some bonuses apply at different steps, and rounding and other combat rules matter.
Can I add another Excellent option?
There is currently no active custom recipe or custom jewel for adding an Excellent option. Upgrading an item’s level does not add another Excellent line. Read the box guide for the configured sources and option counts.
