Jewel of Harmony — Options, Refining Stones and NPCs

Equipment & Items

The Jewel of Harmony adds one extra option to a weapon, staff or armour piece. You can raise that option later with Refining Stones, up to Harmony level 13. On a level 400, no-reset server it is one of the few ways to keep improving gear you already like.

Which items accept Harmony

  • Normal and Excellent weapons, staffs and armour pieces.
  • Not Ancient items and not Socket items: on ANASTARIA they refuse the jewel.
  • One Harmony option per item. To get a different one, remove it first at Jerridon.
  • The Harmony level can never be higher than the item's own level. A +9 item stops at Harmony level 9.

The three Harmony NPCs, all in Aida

NPCPlaceWhat it does
ElpisAida (82, 13)Refines 1 Gemstone into 1 Jewel of Harmony: 80% chance. On failure the Gemstone is lost.
OsbourneAida (78, 13)Smelts an item into a Refining Stone (see below).
JerridonAida (86, 13)Removes the Harmony option from an item: always succeeds, costs Zen.

Aida opens at level 150 (/move Aida1). The three NPCs stand together at the town entrance. If you are below level 150, trade your Gemstones to a friend or sell them on the Market.

Where Gemstones and jewels come from

  • Gemstone: drops from the monsters of Kanturu 1 and Kanturu 2. Campaign stage 19 also gives one.
  • Jewel of Harmony, ready made: bosses (Kundun, Erohim, Balgass, Medusa, Selupan, Nightmare and the Maya hands), Imperial Guardian, Illusion Temple 5-6, Blood Castle 8 and Doppelganger chests; campaign stage 20; the Swamp of Calmness map mission; the Raklion Trial, Karutan Lair and Vulcanus Inferno challenges; and the Battle Pass.
  • Gemstones, Jewels of Harmony and both Refining Stones can be stored in the Jewel Bank and sold on the Market.

Adding the option

Drag the Jewel of Harmony onto the item. The chance is 50%. On success the item gets one random option that fits its type and its level. On failure only the jewel is lost.

Making Refining Stones (Osbourne)

You put inYou getChance
A basic shop weapon or armour piece, +4 or higher, not Excellent, not Ancient, without HarmonyLower Refining Stone20%
An Excellent weapon or armour piece without HarmonyHigher Refining Stone50%

The item is destroyed whether the attempt succeeds or not. Only the cheaper basic items can become Lower Refining Stones (for example Kris, Short Sword, Small Axe, Bronze, Pad, Leather or Vine pieces); rare items are refused.

Raising the Harmony level

  • Drag a Lower Refining Stone onto the item: 50% chance for +1 Harmony level.
  • Drag a Higher Refining Stone onto the item: 70% chance for +1 Harmony level.
  • A failed attempt resets the Harmony option to its starting level, so decide in advance how far you want to push it.
  • Stronger options unlock only on higher items: some need the item at +6, +9 or +13.

Removing the option (Jerridon)

Always succeeds. The cost grows with the Harmony level: 100,000 Zen at the first level, up to 500,000 Zen at level 13. The item keeps everything else.

Good to know

  • Harmony items can be traded and sold like any other item.
  • A player killer can drop a Harmony item, exactly like other equipment.
  • Rates are the same for Free and VIP accounts.
